My husband Al and I live part of the year on the banks of the Yellowstone River in Montana. Water has always held a special meaning for Al and me – it is where we met and much of our lives continue to revolve around lakes, streams, and rivers. The Yellowstone is unique in that it is the longest free flowing river in the contiguous United States, flowing undammed from high in the mountains of Yellowstone National Park 692 miles until it flows in the Missouri River in North Dak
